During my final few months of Grease, after heavy persuasion by my boyfriend, friends and family I began auditioning for the second season of ‘So you think you can Dance’. The auditions were tough, you had to freestyle a lot and receive criticisms from the judges in front of your fellow auditionees.
They were auditions like I had never experienced before.
After two auditions I progressed to the choreography camp which was five days of dance dance dance in every style. Dancing with people you had never met before and learning a routine in a very short space of time, to then be critiqued immediately and poor execution of the routine meant execution from the competition. So as you can imagine the pressure was on. It was one of the most challenging but most rewarding five days of my life.
We were cut down to 17 boys and 17 girls and had to wait to find out who had made it to the top 20. I was ecstatic when I got the call from Sisquo to say that I had made it, another tick on the wish list! And it was from that moment on that the training began. I began taking class in every style I could afford, it was like retraining. Working as hard as I could to be ready for the live shows on 16th April.
